About CineTrotter
Last updated: October 17, 2026
CineTrotter gathers the real places where films were shot and puts them on a map of the world. It comes in two forms: the CineTrotter app, on iPhone and Android, and this website, cinetrotter.com.
What the app does
Search for a film: its filming locations appear on the map, and each one tells you what the place is and what was shot there, when that is known. Tap a place to get there with your navigation app.
If the film is not in CineTrotter yet, Godefroy, our artificial intelligence, sets off to find its places. You keep exploring in the meantime: the app lets you know when it is ready, and the places found join the map, for everyone.
The app asks for no account and no payment. A few ads pay for it.
What the website shows
The website shows what has already been catalogued: the map of places, a page for each film and a page for each place. You can browse it without an account and without installing anything.
Need help?
Write to us at contact@cinetrotter.fr: a question, a problem with the app, a place in the wrong spot or a missing film, we read everything.
