Terms of use

Last updated: October 17, 2026

This page is a translation. Only the French version is legally binding. Read the French version

These terms apply to the CineTrotter app, on iPhone and Android, and to the cinetrotter.com website, both published by Croissants SAS. Using them means accepting these terms.

The service

CineTrotter catalogues filming locations and presents them on a map, in pages and in the app. The app can also start a search for the places of a film it does not know yet.

Access

The app and the website are used without an account and without payment. The app is paid for by the ads it shows.

We do our best to keep the service available, without being able to guarantee it: maintenance, an outage or a technical limit may interrupt it. The number of searches the app runs for you at the same time is limited.

Your internet connection, and what it costs you, remain your responsibility.

What you agree not to do

  • use the service for illegal purposes, or to harm others;
  • try to access our servers without authorisation, to disrupt them or to introduce malicious code into them;
  • harvest the content automatically, or get around the technical limits of the service;
  • trade in the service or its content, for instance by selling our places or republishing them elsewhere, without our written permission.

In case of abuse, we may restrict or block access from a device or an IP address.

Published information

Places are gathered from public sources, checked, then described, partly with the help of artificial intelligence tools. They are given for information: despite our care, an address or a scene may be wrong. Please tell us at contact@cinetrotter.fr.

On site, you remain responsible for how you get around: respect private property, traffic rules and local regulations. A filming location is not necessarily open to the public.

Intellectual property

The texts, the layout, the logo, the CineTrotter brand and the selection of places belong to the publisher. Any reproduction or reuse, in whole or in part, requires its prior written consent.

Film information and posters come from TMDB and remain the property of their rights holders. CineTrotter uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Base maps belong to their authors: the OpenStreetMap contributors, Esri, Google and Apple.

Your data

What we collect, and how to have it erased, is described in the privacy policy.

Liability

The service is provided as is. Within the limits allowed by law, the publisher is only liable for direct and foreseeable damage caused by its fault. It cannot be held liable for the service being unavailable, for inaccurate information, or for the use you make of it.

Changes

These terms may change. The version in force is the one published on this page, on the date shown at the top.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. In case of disagreement, please first write to us at contact@cinetrotter.fr so that we can look for an amicable solution together.

If you are acting as a consumer, you also have the right to refer the dispute, at no cost, to a consumer mediator. If no solution is found, the competent courts will decide.
