El Torno, Spain
Inaugurated in 2009 above the Jerte Valley, this viewpoint brings together the anthropomorphic sculptures of Francisco Cedenilla dedicated to those forgotten by the civil war and the Francoist dictatorship, one of the few Spanish monuments to the victims of Francoism. Pockmarked by bullets shortly after its inauguration, the statues bear these impacts, which the artist chose to preserve.
The scene : The documentary opens and closes on the ochre silhouettes of the monument to the forgotten of the civil war and dictatorship, which dominates the Jerte valley: their shadows intertwine on the ground with those of the visitors, and this shot provided the image for the poster.
Buenos Aires, Argentina
The scene : About ten days of filming in Argentina, where the Spanish plaintiffs come to testify and follow the complaint filed by Judge Servini in the name of universal jurisdiction.
Bruxelles, Belgium
The scene : The official film record at the ICAA lists four days of filming in the Belgian capital, without specifying which ones.
Madrid, Spain
The scene : At the Madrid City Council, gathered in a plenary session, Esperanza Aguirre votes against the proposal to rename the streets that still bear Francoist names.
Buenaventura, Spain
The scene : In a low voice, María Martín reflects beside this ordinary road, built during the Transition: beneath the asphalt lies the mass grave where her mother was thrown in 1936 along with other victims of the Francoists from the village.
