Opened in 1930, the Capitol is one of the few ‘atmospheric’ cinemas still standing in Canada: its hall replicates the courtyard of a medieval castle. Designated a heritage property under the Ontario Heritage Act, it is also a national historic site of Canada.

The scene : Twenty-seven years later, Richie returns to the hall of the old cinema, now closed and abandoned, where he relives a confrontation with Henry Bowers in the arcade of his childhood. In front of the building's windows, which now house the tourist center turned Chamber of Commerce of Derry, the adult Losers catch a glimpse of their childhood reflections.
