  1. Kelly Gulch (Topanga)

    Topanga, United States

Private property of Topanga, on a plot of approximately 3.4 hectares shaded by oaks and bordered by a stream, developed in 1978 by Mike and Frank Kelly; the cabin is adjacent to a large two-story barn. Sold at the end of 2012, it is now called Blackberry Creek Farm at Kelly Gulch and is rented for events and filming, without hosting visitors. It has served for many productions: The Eraser, Murphy's Law, Pumpkinhead, My Girl 2, Ed Gein, scenes from Friday the 13th, Part 7, as well as the series Entourage and Parks and Recreation.

The scene : This is the Jarvis house, where most of the film takes place. Rob arrives there with Trish and Tommy, who shows him his masks in his upstairs bedroom, then night falls: Mrs. Jarvis enters a house plunged into darkness and disappears as she exits through the back, Tommy goes down to the basement to restore the power, Jason cuts the phone line, breaks down the front door, and chases Trish and Tommy into the room they have barricaded behind a bookcase. Right next door stood the house rented by the group of friends: Rob and Trish go there in the middle of the night, and Trish runs in one last time to escape Jason.

  2. Santa Clarita Movie Ranch

    Santa Clarita, United States

Filming ranch of about 240 acres in Haskell Canyon (Santa Clarita), formerly known as Veluzat Movie Ranch then Melody Ranch Backlot. It is owned by the Veluzat family and is only open for visits by appointment. The Higgins Haven house burned down in 2006, set on fire by a fan who had lit a fire in its fake fireplace: only the stone chimney and part of the foundations remain. The artificial pond that represented the lake is almost dry.

The scene : The film opens at Higgins Haven the day after the massacre of chapter 3: the bodies of the victims are being evacuated on stretchers and in body bags.

  3. Santa Clarita Movie Ranch (barn)

    Santa Clarita, United States

Barn still standing on the ranch, directly across from the site of the former house; the surrounding wooden fence has disappeared.

The scene : The opening sequence returns to the barn at Higgins Haven, where the previous chapter had ended, before the bodies were taken away.

  4. Los Angeles, United States

Intersection of Franklin Canyon Park, later featured in Friday the 13th, Part 5 and in The End of Freddy.

The scene : On the road to the lake, the gang's car passes this intersection in Franklin Canyon Park, with its house and street sign in the background; this is where Ted confronts Jimmy (‘The computer don't lie!’).

  5. Los Angeles, United States

The scene : On Lake Drive, the gang's car passes the hitchhiker and drives alongside Pamela Voorhees's grave; the road is also used for shots of the station wagon heading towards the lake.

  6. Topanga, United States

The scene : Sunny road shots of the route to Crystal Lake, filmed not far from the Jarvis house; the mailbox at 790 and a red and white post are still visible in the shot.

  7. Los Angeles, United States

The scene : The lake of the night scene shot around the raft and the dock, where executions take place.

  8. Los Angeles, United States

The scene : Most of the shots of the car taking the gang to their location were filmed on the figure-eight road that encircles this reservoir. It is also at this lake that Sam takes his last swim and Paul is killed by a harpoon gun.

  9. Los Angeles, United States

The scene : Other shots of the journey were filmed in the park, impossible to precisely reshoot: the road and the vegetation have changed a lot since.

  10. Santa Barbara County, United States

Lake of the San Rafael Mountains, in Santa Barbara County, where the Zaca Lake Foundation hosts retreats and group stays.

The scene : The mountain lake for nude swimming, where Trish and Tommy also meet Rob; its trails were used for hiking scenes.
